Air Senegal: fresh start with the modern A330neo

The new flag-carrier of the Republic of Senegal, has confirmed the order for two Airbus A330-900neos plus two options, becoming the first African airline to purchase the A330neo. The order was signed in February 2018 in the presence of the Republic of Senegal’s president Macky Sall and the French Republic president Emmanuel Macron on a state visit to Senegal. The A330neos are scheduled to be delivered and deployed in the airline’s network in 2019.

Air Senegal’s A330neo will be flying in a 3-class configuration with a total of 290 seats and will incorporate the award-winning Airspace cabin, bringing the latest innovations to all passengers across Premium and Economy classes.

The A330neo cabin is one of the quietest in the sky, with ventilation systems that designed to provide the best air circulation and air quality. Additionally, the passengers flying in economy will be enjoying the widest seats, as the aircraft will be configured in an 8 abreast economy class configuration.

Thanks to the Airspace cabin features, a customized welcome area and mood lighting all along the cabin, the Senegalese ‘Teranga Spirit’ ambiance to be spread amongst the passengers.

With a rate of 5.7% per year, the traffic growth forecast for the next 10 years in Africa is well above the World average.

With the recent opening of the new Dakar airport, Air Senegal will benefit from the connecting traffic flying through this new hub of West Africa while forecasting to carry more than 1 million passengers annually within the next five years.

The A330neo is expected to be deployed on the airline’s medium and long-haul network, including Africa, Europe, Middle East, and the Americas.
