Introduction

Based on the industry’s growth figures, we recognized that, in order to sustain the future growth of the Middle East’s aviation industry and economy, there’s a need to inspire more of the region’s youth and invest in their future career choices.

At Airbus we’ve been driving several initiatives to engage with students and encourage them to pursue studies in the aerospace industry. This would help in fuelling young talents potential for innovation and ultimately contribute towards creating a sustainable pipeline of future aviation professionals that the aviation industry can attract, nurture and retain.

  • Fly your Ideas

Fly Your Ideas is a biennial, global competition granted UNESCO patronage in 2012. The competition aims at engaging with universities and students worldwide and from all backgrounds; stimulate innovative ideas for a greener aviation industry; and identify potential opportunities for R&T development and/or interaction with academic research teams. The challenge offers students a unique opportunity to put their classroom learning and research to the test, by working with a team of aviation professionals on real-world challenges, going beyond the aircraft itself. It offers students a chance to apply their creativity in an exceptional learning environment that will equip them in a highly competitive job market. The competition is open to students of all nationalities and all disciplines – from engineering to marketing; science to design.
